Donna Mary (Denison) Lee was born on July 16, 1942 to Donald and Elberta Denison in Leavenworth, Washington. After having three girls for their fourth daughter Donald and Elberta named her Donna after her father and she was a daddy's tom boy girl. Donna had 4 sisters and 1 brother Barbara, Elberta "Betty", Ethel "Joy", Martha and Donald. The family moved around quite a bit for employment. Towards the end of her senior year in high school in Forest Grove, Oregon, father Donald, passed away. Sister Martha is the only child still living.

In 1962, Donna married Melvin Lee. Their wedding had to be postponed a couple of weeks due to the Columbus Day Storm, in which the church where they were to marry, had the roof blown off. They had 3 children, Michael born the day after Donna's 21st birthday, Carleton named after Melvin's father and Melody, named after a doll Donna had as a child. They have five grandchildren: Warren, Amber, Jacob, Katie and Heather; 4 great-grandchildren Connor, Alice, Evelynn and Uriel, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Melvin and Donna, with their children lived many years in Hillsboro, Oregon, until 1980 when they could afford a larger home with forest land outside of Sherwood, Oregon. In 1988, they moved to farmland just outside Dundee, Oregon. Donna was an amateur bowler that won many trophies. She was a Cub Scout den mother to her sons and sewed Barbie clothes for her daughter. She loved dressing up in character as a Native American at the Scouting Pow Wow. Donna also loved writing and painting, and was a prior member of the Rhododendron Club in Portland. She created her own word puzzles and loved making home-made cards to give for birthdays and holidays.

For their 25th Anniversary, Melvin and Donna, traveled to Hawaii. In retirement, they traveled many places by RV across the continental U.S. as well as to Alaska and Mexico. They lived full-time in their RV for many years. As snowbirds, they would spend the winters in Southern California and Nevada every year before returning to Oregon. Melvin and Donna were active members of the Good Sam's Club and they supported Dogs for the Deaf. For their 45th they went to Australia with their son Carleton. They were very proud to celebrate their 50th Anniversary in 2012. Sadly in 2013 Melvin and Donna experienced a major car accident and their health neither recovered. Donna passed away in Puerto Rico returning home after vacationing with family members there. In spite of health challenges, she had a lovely time in Puerto Rico and shared stories of her travels while there.
